Netley Sea Scout Group provides fun, challenge and adventure to over 90 children (and growing) aged 6 to 18 in the Netley, Woolston, Hamble area. We are looking for more adult volunteers due to an increased interest in Scouting.

Why volunteer for us…?

Well, because you will be making a difference to local young people and giving something back to the community. You will be enhancing skills you already have and learning new ones, that makes you an attractive prospect to any employer.

We are open to anyone from all faiths, backgrounds and abilities and welcome everyone.

Assistant Leaders
Beacause of an increase in demand we are looking for people to join a team of volunteers to help provide fun, exciting and challenging activities for young people aged 6 to 18 years old.

So what will you be doing?

Well, you will be working with a team of adults in the section of your choice to ensure that the young people have an activity each week. Working within the team you will be able to give your thoughts and ideas about what activities to do and games to play.

Every section meeting is different and the variety and opportunities are endless. We are looking for people to work in a team to plan and deliver activities for the Beavers (6 – 8 year olds),Cubs (8 – 10.5 year Olds), Scouts (10.5 – 14 year olds) and Explorers (14 – 18 year olds) which are fun, exciting and challenging.

We are looking for people that can help our young people get the most out of their Scouting experience by having the opportunity to take part in lots of different activities, all of which is made possible by our volunteers.

Full training is given

Instructors
We are looking to recruit various skills Instructors to help run our activities, especially our on water activities to our young members.

We are particularly interested in recruiting RYA and BCU Instructors. You will be working with our Leaders and other Instructors in delivering high quality Sea Scouting to the members of our Group and to the wider Scouting Community. If you do not hold a recognised Instructors qualification , then part funding is available to gain these qualifications for the right candidates.

Committee Members
Without people being behind the scenes giving support to the leaders, then the scout group would not function.

If you feel you have skills to assist the group executive such as administrative, accountancy, fundraising, PR, then we would love to hear from you. No matter what skills you have then there is a role for you.

Quartermaster / Boatswain / Boatbuilder/ DIY Skills/
