Our Sea Scout Troop meets on a Friday, but also has activities throughout the year on other days, this currently includes a boat maintenance day at our very own boat house. The Troop are very active and are frequently out on the water either rowing, sailing or kayaking. We have many assets to the group including a 4.5m RIB, kayaks, Topper sailing dinghies, an open Canadian Canoe and two Bursledon Gig’s. We also have many other craft which are undergoing refurbishment and maintenance work before being put back into use.

We have qualified instructors to take Scouts dinghy sailing, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, pulling (rowing) and motor boating. We are currently working towards gaining further qualifications to extend the experiences we are able to offer the scouts in house. We have also teamed up with a local sailing club, which means Scouts have full use of their facilities, sailing sessions (generally once a week, subject to tide times) and sailing courses with fully qualified RYA instructors.

Aside from sailing we also do camping, rifle shooting, archery, den building, hiking (night walks) and many, many other exciting activities.

We have applied to regain our RN recognition. Click here for more information. Added : 14th December 2012
