Hamble River Games

Congratulations to our gig crews who took part in the Hamble River Games. Netley Sea Scouts were out racing in both their gigs ” Sir Harry” and “Chimaera”., with the Scouts in “Sir Harry” and the adults / leaders in “Chimaera”. Both teams were rowing for Hamble River Sailing Club, of which the Group are associate members.

The Scouts took home a Silver medal, coming second to Hamble Sea Scouts, whereas the adults came 4th in their heat, unfortunately not making the final.

The medal ceremony was held at Hamble Point Marina and hosted by local ITV reporter Sally Simmonds, with the medals being presented by round the world yachtsman Mike Golding OBE.
