Solent Scouts Sailing Regatta – Saturday 7th July 2012

Three of our Scouts entered the Solent Scouts Sailing Regatta, held at Spinnaker Sailing Club, Blashford Lake, on Saturday 7th July 2012. They competed in the single handed Pico racing. Despite the awful weather, wind rain and the cold, they managed to achieve some very good results, with Elliott wining one race, and Jimmy just missing out on a first in a very close and exciting race. Sunny also competed and done very well in the challenging conditions. Out of the nine Scout Groups that entered, Netley Sea Scouts came sixth, the best we could have achieved would have been fifth. This was due to only entering one event. Hopefully next year we will enter a larger team including the double handed Pico.
